N Irelands Only & One of a handful in the uk City & Guilds L.C.G.I European Mastercraftsman, Higher Diploma & Advanced Grooming as well as ex vet nurse and over 20 years experience within the animal care industry. Nichola also hold teaching qualifications and lecturers, assesses and verifys grooming and animal care qualifcations. We also have a faculty of over 20 specialist animal care tutors specialising in different areas who teach our many animal care courses ranging from canine massage through to behaviour and dog training etc. INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS SmartPets is internationally recognised for the highest level training with students coming from all over the world including America, Canada, Sweden, Australia, Norway, Cyprus. The training school is situtated in Bangor a seaside resort and local accomodation can be arranged  so you can have a hoilday during your training. OUR TRAINING All our Grooming tuition is on a one to one basis with a max of 3 students for practical work and a max of 6 students for theory. 90% of our grooming course is practical hands on hands backed up with theory, dvds and seminars. All our training is geared towards City & Guilds level 3 standards. Our animal care courses are a mixture of theory and practical with a maximum of 12 students per course. Courses may also be arranged at your venue please contact us for details. OUR FACILITIES All our tuition takes place at our Salon in Bangor N Ireland. We have a hi-tec spacious 1200 sq feet Grooming salon with hi-tec modern equiptment including: electric tables, walk in baths, high velocity dryers, Rest/training room equipted with internet computer access for the City & Guilds GOLA online Examinations and tv/dvd facilities. We also have a kitchen, toilet facilities and a range of book and videos available to students. We can help you with salon design and set-up if required. QUALIFICATIONS We are N Irelands Only  school who offer Nationally accrediated Qualifications in Dog Grooming & Animal Care. We are a NPTC CITY & GUILDS satellite training centre offering Level 2 and 3 City and guilds dog grooming qualifications.     Our courses also offer National Open College Network accrediated certifications for the skills gained during the courses as well as our own course International Animal Care College certifcation on course completion Many of our animal care courses are also accrediated For CEU'S by IAABC and other specialist awarding bodies. Work towards Recognised qualifications these are accredited through an organisation recognised and approved by the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority (QCA) such as the Open College Network or City & Guilds. Check on the National Database of Accredited Qualifications if you are not sure. All our courses are either  accrediated or in the process of being accrediated. The level of the learning you undertake is similar to the level of study needed for other courses and UK wide recognised qualifications NOCN award credits at four different levels A credit is a way of measuring, recognising and valuing your learning The level, given on the certificate for each unit you have achieved shows the stage you have reached in your learning Entry Level Qualifications and units at Entry Level provides a basis for progression to other qualifications Level One This is comparable to NVQ Level 1, GCSEs D-G and Foundation Diploma Level Two This is comparable to NVQ Level 2, GCSE’s A* to C and Higher Diploma Level Three This is comparable to NVQ Level 3, A and AS Levels, Advanced Diploma
